Dairy Crest suppliers get free Johne’s testing

Dairy Crest Direct (DCD) members can now secure an initial Johne’s status for their herd thanks to a free 30-cow milk test being offered by the processor.

Access to the initiative is also being provided to DCD members who do not milk-record to ensure every member has access, says DCS director Phil Allin.

“The scheme is being run in conjunction with milk recording agencies NMR, CIS and QMMS, and DCD is also highlighting the scheme to vets to encourage vet involvement with interpreting the results.”
