Dairy Event 2011: Software aggregates farm records and vet analysis

Farmers and vets will now be able to access farm records and vet analysis results all in one place, thanks to a new software package.

Launched to farmers at the Dairy Event and Livestock Show, VetImpress enables information from a range of farm management software, such as Interherd and Farm Wizard, to be exported and collated with other data, including vet analysis results.

Farmers and vets will then be able to access all farm records in one place, via a free login. By collating data it is possible to see how various parameters are improving year in year and track every pound spent.

Farmers will also automatically receive text alerts if a problem is identified. For example, if milk recording show 20 cows with high somatic cell counts, producers will be informed straight away.

Currently 11 vet practices in the UK have signed up for VetImpress, including a number of XL Vets practices and Westpoint Vets.
