Dates announced for youngstock farm walks
Following on from the success of Farmers Weekly’s Youngstock: Stop the Loss campaign, the RABDF has teamed up with the National Youngstock Association to co-ordinate a series of farm walks looking into best practice youngstock management.
The events will take place from February to May this year on a number of farms up and down the country, and will cover areas such as colostrum management, nutrition, disease control and prevention, and building design and ventilation.
The farm walks will take place on the following dates:
• 28 February – Millers, Shanael Holsteins, Evesham, Worcestershire
• 8 March – Steven Bland, Clifton Jerseys, Penrith, Cumbria
• 13 March – Tim Gue, Huddleston Farm, Steyning, West Sussex
• 3 May – Les Boam, Tagg Lane Grange, Bakewell, Derbyshire
• 16 May – Martin Wilson, Broadlea Farm, Eaglesfield, Lockerbie
Full details for each of the farm walks are available on the RABDF website at www.rabdf.co.uk
