Greenslade Taylor Hunt auctioneer Martin Dare brings his gavel down on Lot 54, a Ricecrest Lantz daughter in-calf with her second, at a dispersal for WH Chave & Son at Ford Farm, Kentisbeare, Devon, last week. She made 924. Messrs Chave are ceasing dairy production following injury, and 148 head of commercial dairy cattle were offered. Mr Dare said a good commercial trade reflected the fact the country was below quota. The 111 cows and heifers averaged 725, with 20 lots exceeding 1000 a head.
