Herd health costs

A survey has been launched into reasons behind massive variations in vet and med costs, which currently range from £23 to a massive £120/cow.

Kingshay Farming Trust, who are conducting the survey, believe this range could amount to £10,000 for 100 cows and are conducting an online survey to determine where these costs lie.

Part of their Profitable Milk series, the aim is to establish how much is spent on different factors, including calculating the impact on performance, replacement costs and disease incidence.

Results will be published in a report later this year and responses will be kept confidential. Visit www.kingshay.com or call 01458 851 555 to complete the survey.
