Manure management advice at dairy event

Farmers at this year’s Dairy Event and Livestock Showwill be encouraged to regard slurry and manures as assets by recognising their nutrient value.

The Tried and Tested stand, will offer a wide range of advice on nutrient management planning.

Farmers can pick up hard copies of the Tried and Tested Nutrient Management plan and a free memory stick containing electronic record sheets so they can easily review and improve their nutrient efficiency.

The Tried and Tested Team is also sharing a stand with Farming Futures. Visitors can find out how managing nutrients on their farm can reduce agricultures’ contribution to climate change and pick up information on how they can be part of the climate change solution.

The Tried and Tested Nutrient Management Plan should be particularly valuable for dairy and livestock farmers, says The Tried and Tested Team: “The plan can help farmers make better use of manures to ensure their farms are more cost effective while minimising any potential impact on the environment.”
