National Holstein Show cancelled due to bluetongue
The National Holstein Show, scheduled for 15 April 2008, has been cancelled due to bluetongue restrictions.
Staffordshire County Showground, where the event it usually held, now lies within the bluetongue surveillance zone, which means only breeders in this zone could have competed.
Holstein UK, organisers of the event, said holding the show without competitors from outside the zone would only result in ‘half a show’, and that an early decision was best for those concerned.
