Dalesbred Ram sells for £3800 at annual show

John Dawson of Field Head Farm, Littledale topped the prices at the 80 Annual Show and Sale of Dalesbred Rams held at Bentham Auction with his Champion Ram realising £3,800 selling to Nathan Brown of Deep Clough, Littledale. The reserve champion ram shown by Messrs M J and A Carr of Horton in Ribblesdale sold for £2,000 to Karl Oyston, Manor Farm, Farleton.

Renewed interest in the Dalesbred breed saw prices rise on the year by £200 for Shearling Rams to average £581.42.

Other leading prices for shearling rams included Messrs Huddleston and Longton, Bentham selling at £2200; R Jackson and Son, Horton in Ribblesdale at £2100 and £2000 and M J and A Carr at £1900.
