Double win for Robin Slade with Dutch Texels

In lamb classes it was a double win for Robin Slade, Herefordshire, taking the supreme and reserve championships with his Dutch Texels. Mr Slade who was said to be ‘over the moon’ at his win, had never won the supreme title at EWF despite exhibiting at the show before. His winning pair weighing 80kg combined,  were a pair of ewe lambs born this May and will be retained for breeding.

In reserve were also ewe lambs weighing 45kg each. Judge David Albutt, a lamb and cattle buyer for Dawn Meats said the winning pair had excellent conformation shape and had a level finish. “They handled extremely hard and had tremendous width.”
