Duroc is Great Yorkshire pig winner

Taking the overall pig championship here at the Great Yorkshire Show today was the Duroc female champion, Deva Hover 199 from Jan Walton. This one, described by interbreed judge Robert Overend, Northern Ireland, as a perfect example of the breed, is by Tates Jeryy 4 and out of Deav Hover 58. She was breed champion at the Bath and West and reserve at Cheshire. She also won her class at last week’s Royal Show.

Reserve spot went to the reserve overall female champion, the Saddleback sow from Deborah Beeby. This one is out of Brydges Babble 17 and is by Victoria Grand Duke 131. Mrs Beeby also had reserve overall at Bath and West with this one which is due to farrow in three weeks time.
