Farm fires: Planning a livestock evacuation

Livestock farmers are being urged to prepare how to evacuate stock in the event of a fire, after NFU Mutual reported a 20% rise in arson attacks in 2014.

Jim Green, animal rescue specialist from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, said farmers who implement a fire safety strategy are less likely to lose everything.

Mr Green has put together a six-point plan to ensure livestock can be evacuated safely in a fire.
