Flying trade for store cattle and sheep at Darlington
Store cattle trade has been flying at Darlington Mart this week with a high of £1,200 for a 20 month old Blonde D’Aquitaine Steer from K Cator, Stobb House Farm. Leading the heifers was a 19-month-old Limousin from JS Foster and Son, West End Farm which reached £1,170.
According to auctioneers it is the smaller beasts that have been realising the best trade with anything between six and nine month and a touch of shape selling for between £700 and £900.
Trade is also strong for store hoggs as winter feeding is still readily available. It was a Texel from A and R Thompson that topped the trade at £85.
