Danish Agromek Show: calf milk pasteuriser cuts disease

Danish dairy farmers being encouraged to cut disease levels in calves by pasteurising cows’ milk used as feed are the target of the Maxisteam pasteuriser unit from Boss Produktor.

It blows steam through the milk, holding it at 72C for 15 seconds and taking about 1.5-2 minutes to produce a three-litre batch of milk.

The milk can then be kept for three hours before feeding.

There’s a timer for doing it in advance and temperature control to stop the milk overheating. Cost is ÂŁ8600 in Denmark.
