Badger Trust to consult lawyers over cull

The Badger Trust says it will consult with lawyers over the decision to announce a badger cull in England.

David Williams, chairman of the Badger Trust, said: “We are clearly very disappointed by this decision but now that it has been made, we will be studying it with our legal advisors to determine what action we shall take.”

Jack Reedy, a spokesman for the Trust, said it was too early to say whether legal action would be taken.

“We have got to look very carefully, not just at the statement today, but also the background paperwork published.

“There is a lot to go through and we don’t want to say anything further today.”

In April, the Badger Trust announced that it was taking legal action against a proposed badger cull in Wales.
