Foot and mouth temporary zone in Solihull

A foot and mouth temporary control zone has been put around premises in Solihull between the villages of Catherine de Barnes and Bickenhill.

DEFRA has announced this is a precautionary measure as animal health vet staff have assessed clinical symptoms and are waiting on lab test results.

At this stage disease has not been confirmed and the containment and eradication of foot and mouth remains DEFRA’s top priority, according to a statement released earlier.
