McDonald’s wins RSPCA Good Business Award

McDonald’s fast food chain has come out a winner at this year’s RSPCA Good Business Awards held recently at the Natural History Museum in London.
The fast food chain won the Restaurant Chain Award and was praised by the judges for the milestones it has reached this year. This has included its commitment in using free-range whole eggs in all its restaurants across Europe.
McDonald’s was also commended for its decision to host a poultry round-table discussion on a strategic approach to the humane killing of chickens.
Recognition was given for its strong support of research into animal welfare through funding the Food Animal Initiative.
David Bowles, head of external affairs for the RSPCA, said: “Congratulations must be given to all our winners for achieving animal welfare standards that others in the restaurant industry should aspire to.”
