Henry sells for new record for Panmure Herd

Panmure 1 Henry from the Panmure Herd of J M Cant and Partners has sold for a record herd price to John and William McMordie of Solpoll Herefords, Northern Ireland.

Although sold for an undisclosed fee, Henry’s sale breaks the previous record private sale for the Panmure herd of £6,000 paid by Buckinghamshire breeders Paul and Lyn Snell in 2011 for Panmure 1 Harry.

Henry is the third bull that John and William McMordie have purchased from J M Cant and Partners. However, on this occasion they are buying back some of their own breeding as Henry ‘s dam Panmure 1 Plum E2 was sired by 2006 Royal Highland Show Supreme Champion Solpoll 1 Brigadier, who the Cant family bought in 2005.

Henry, which is sired by successful stock bull Romany 1 Distiller, is a full brother to Panmure 1 Gino, which was sold for 8,100gns to R and K Murphy of Gortnagarn and Sluggan Herefords also in Northern Ireland at the 2011 Spring Show and Sale in Hereford.
