Holstein dispersal tops at 2350gns
A commercial Holstein Friesian sold for a top price of 2350gns at the dispersal sale of Greg Waters’ herd, Whitson,
This second calver, sired by Alfrag Juror Kendall and due to Bidlea Tredene in August of this year, sold to W Bennett and Son of Kempley.
The same buyer paid the next top price of 2050gns for a Marshside Crusader sired, second calver, giving 27.5kgs at 4.61% fat and 3.65% protein.
A calved in heifer by Supersires Ascort, calving in July this year to Bidlea Tredene, sold for 2020gns to J Williams and Son Llangybi, Usk.
They also bought a Scotchhills Patriot, 10 weeks into her second lactation, for 2000gns.
Selling for the same price was a Hanoverhill Magnum daughter, which sold to Messrs Bennett.
Late May calving heifers sired by Ragancrest Inter Dominc sold for the next highest price of 1520gns to R Lawrence, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire.
