Holstein wins dairy Interbreed at Royal Highland
It has been all go here in the dairy lines with all the breed classes and the interbreeds judged already.
Taking the overall title was the Holstein champion Saxelby Goldwyn Rose from Robert and Elaine Butterfield. This Braedale Goldwyn daughter is classified EX93 and was interbreed champion at last year’s Great Yorkshire Show as well as reserve breed champion here last year. She is out of Saxelby Aaron Rose.Reserve overall was the Ayrshire leader Calderglen Silverbell 7 from Robin Barr. This 2005-born fourth calver is by Calderglen Jubilee.In the junior championship the title went to Robert Hunter with his Jersey Clydevalley Governor Flora, a Griffens Governor daughter. Standing reserve to her was the Holstein junior, Blythebridge Elegant Christable from Blythebridge Holsteins. She’s by Blythebridge Elegand Dundee.
The reserve Holstein championship went to Brian Weatherup with his second calver Parkend Jacob Betsy, a Bilsrow Jacob daughter. Reserve in the Ayrshires was Halmure Urr Floralin 144 from L Davidson and Son.
Winning the Jersey championship were R and W Templeton with their 2007-born cow Skyhigh Ressurection Veronica, a Rapid Bay Ressurection daughter. Reserve was Robert Hunter with his cow Clydevalley Julian Flora.
And taking the Dairy Shorthorn championship was Stephen Girvan with his 2005-born cow Bishopsbrae Royal Kathleen, a Hooton Fair Appeal daughter. Standing reserve to her was Adam Lawson with his first calved heifer Lisnamulligan Whitetail 2, a Meadowhaven Pride’s Starr daughter.
In the British Red and White section the champion was 2006-born cow Killoch Punch from A Woodburn and Sons, with A and S Lawrie’s Cuthill Towers Dasiy Mae 2 in reserve.
