Ironstone Brandy takes champion ticket at Carlisle Limousin sale
Ironstone Brandy from Peter Smith’s Ironstone herd took top honours in yesterday’s pre-sale judging of bulls at Carlisle’s opening Limousin fixture of the year.
With the sale just half an hour from kicking off, there has been plenty of interest in this bull in the lines this morning, particularly as bluetongue restrictions mean this may be the only time the Ironstone herd can consign to Carlisle this year.
By Unisco and out of Baillea Umandy, Brandy stood champion ahead of an entry from Matt and Craig Ridley’s Haltcliffe herd. This one is by Cloughead Umpire and out of homebred dam Haltcliffe Uldale.
Prospective buyers are now starting to fill the sale ring and Taking Stock will bring you regular updates throughout the day with leading prices reported live from the ringside, check back later to see if Brandy can follow up his winning ways with a top price….
