Jomaras dairy dispersal tops 2,400gns

The dispersal sale of Joe and Nicholas Layton’s Jomaras herd of pedigree, from Hampton Bishop, Hereford, peaked at 2,400gns.

 

Achieving the day’s top price was a second calver by Ked Outside Jeeves, which had recorded 8,642kgs as a heifer. She calved just six weeks ago and is currently giving 41.3kgs daily.  She was one of 20 cattle purchased by Stowell Farms of Marlborough, Wiltshire.

 

The same buyer also bought a third calver by Wortwell Freddie for 2,300gns. This one calved two months before the sale and is currently giving 35.4kgs daily.

 

Amos Partners of Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, gave 2,100gns for a freshly calved second calver by Jomaras Tempest.  She had given 8,125kgs as a heifer.

 

Meanwhile served heifers sold to 1,550gns and heifer calves to 600gns.
