Lambs at Skipton sell to £132

A fantastic entry of 24 lambs sold to a high of £132 at Kirkby Stephen Market this week.

 

The overall championship was awarded to a Texel cross lamb from Messrs Bainbridge, Bonnygate, which weighed 41kg and went on to sell for £132.80 to Mr G Riley, the day’s judge.

 

Messrs Bainbridge scooped the double, also taking first prize in the Suffolk class with a 45kg lamb. This sold to the judge once again for £110.

 

The Bainbridge’s also took second prize in the Texel class. The successful bidder at £133.80 a head was again G Riley.

 

Third prize-winner was Messrs Slee, Street House, with a Texel lamb, weighing 43kg. It went on to sell for £129.80 to N and J Dowding.

 

In the Suffolk classes Messrs Sowerby, Terry Farm, were the runners-up, with a 41kg lamb, which went on to sell to G Riley for £94.80.
