Lanark Texel females reach 11,000gns

 A shearling gimmer from Gordon Gray’s Ettrick flock in the Scottish borders topped the Select Seven in-lamb Texel ewe sale at Lanark at 11,000gns.

By Knock Reebok and out of a Knock Firefly ewe, the gimmer is in-lamb to Blue Gates Top Gun and was bought by Proctors Farm, Lancashire.

 

Local breeders J and H Clark sold a gimmer by Clinterty Romeo at 8,500gns to Stuart Barclay, Inch, Banchory. She is in-lamb to Eastfield Talon.

More success came for Gordon Gray with a 7500gns bid from Alan Blackwood, Muirkirk to secure a Knock Reebok gimmer that is in-lamb to Knock Papoose and is from one of the flock’s most successful show-winning families.

The same pen produced another high priced gimmer for Ettrick when Cheshire breeder Charlie Boden gave 7000gns for a Reebok gimmer in-lamb to Papoose.

 

Proctors Farm also paid 5200gns for a gimmer from the Cambwell flock. By Allanfauld Rockafella and in-lamb to Teiglum Tennessee, she was consigned by T and A Laird, Biggar.

 

Averages: 98 gimmers £1291.
