Limousin x steers top £1,590 at Hexham and Northern mart

Hexham and Northern Marts had an entry of 249 Store Cattle and Suckled Calves at their weekly sale today.

Topping the sale was a two year old Limousin x steer at £1,590 from M/s Bell, Throphill.  Also in the same age group were Limousin steers at £1,570 From M/s Milburn, Holling Hill and Charolais x steers at £1,565 from Mr D Ions, Ewesley and £1,560 from M/s Milburn, Holling Hill.

Leading the 18 month class were Limousin x steers at £1,580 from M/s Milburn, Holling Hill and £1,550 from M/s Bell, Throphill.  Charolais x steers sold to £1,490 from M/s Cuthbert, Capheaton New Houses and also from M/s Shell, Brandon.

Angus x steers topped the twelve to sixteen month class at £1,290 from Mr M Dixon, The Stobbs, with the heifers from the same home at £1,270.  Limousin steers sold to £1,280 from M/s Carins, Broomhall and M/s Bolton Grange, Thrunton Lowfield.

Meanwhile the sheep ring was 1,705 Store Lambs at their weekly sale.

Topping the sale were Dutch Texel lambs at £77 from M/s Storrow, Willimoteswick and also at £77 were Texel x lambs from Mr CM Roberts, Rose Cottage.  Suffolk x sold to £70 from Mr RH Philipson, Broadgates.  Mule lambs topped at £55 from Mr M Cousin, The Laws.
