Liquid supplement aims to boost energy and protein status of poultry

Lovit LC-Energy liquid is a new supplement for poultry from Lohmann Animal Health, which aims to enhance energy and protein status of birds, preventing metabolic disturbances during the important stages of production.

It is said to help overcome the problems – such as decreased feed and water intake, fatty liver disease, kidney disorders and stress – that often result from changes of diet or high temperatures.

Lovit LC-Energy liquid contains compounds such as l-carnitine to help with energy metabolism betaine, which improves protein usage and the immune function; sorbitol, which provides an instant supply of energy via the liver; and magnesium, which stimulates feed consumption.

It is added to the bird’s drinking water in 1-2 litres/1000 litres of water for up to 3-10 days, until laying peak and can also be used throughout the broiler cycle. It is supplied in either one- or five-litre bottles and 15-litre canisters.

“With feed prices at record levels, it’s important to ensure that birds do not suffer health or nutritional checks, but consume all of their rations and convert them efficiently throughout the production cycle,” says Thomas Berger of Lohmann Animal Health.
