Winners of Devon Holstein Herd Competition announced

The Devon Holstein Club’s Herd competition, judged by Mr Trevor Hugo of Bokiddick Farm, Launceston, Cornwall, visited nine herds to establish winners of several categories in June.

In the Seemeel Cup, for herds below 100 cow, first place was taken by the Oakroyal Herd owned by D J Smith.

Second and third place were taken by the Curscombe Herd, owned by C & J Bishop, and Littleweir Herd owned by J Murch & Sons respectively.

The Dalgety Agriculture Cup for herds over 100 cows was taken by the Sherdon Herd, owned by J C Palmer.

In second place was the Hoops Herd owned by J G Ley and in third was the Hemburyfort Herd owned by D E Pyle.
