Wormanby triumph in Border and Lakeland Holstein Summer Herds Competition

The last week in July saw three hot days of judging for the Border and Lakeland Holstein Club Summer Herd Competition 2006.

Herds throughout Cumbria and the surrounding areas competed for small, medium and large herd titles culminating in the overall Edward Pattinson Memorial Trophy.

H & M Hodgson with their Wormanby Herd were presented with the overall trophy, also winning the small herd competition.

The best medium herd competition was won collected by T Graham & Son, Anguswell, Kirklington, Carlisle with their Heathersgill Herd. The best large herd was collected by DE & LM Wilson, High Oaks, Calthwaite, Carlisle.

The choice of the Wormanby herd was a unanimous one and the herd will now go forward to represent Border and Lakeland Hostein Club in the National Premier Herd Coompetition held by Holstein UK later in July.
