Livestock Event team management restructure

The Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers Livestock event is hoping to strengthen the show with a restructured management team and a move from September to July.

Caroline Barbour has been appointed assistant event director, while RABDF chief executive Nick Everington will continue to hold overall responsibility following the departure of event manager Richard Evans, who returns to Holstein UK next month.

Returning from maternity leave, Caroline Barbour has more than two years’ experience as assistant event manager and will be responsible for allocation of exhibitor stands and event logistics.

The Livestock Event team is further strengthened by Kate Jones as business development manager responsible for new business including visitor promotions, and livestock co-ordinator Sian Mercer, who will organise all classes and cattle exhibitor facilities in the Livestock Hall. Completing the team are senior events co-ordinator Tris Worrall; executive administrator Wendy Griffin, who will deal with exhibitor administration; and Emily Rowley, membership and marketing co-ordinator organising the seminars held over the two-day event.

Nick Everington said: “We have had a considerable amount of change in recent years; certainly rescheduling to the first week of July has not been without its critics. However, we hope all concerned – both exhibitors and visitors – will give us the opportunity to demonstrate the merits of an earlier date, which received majority support from both exhibitors and visitors surveyed at Livestock 2012.”
