Diet feeder rental scheme launched for drought-hit farms

Livestock farmers faced with severe forage shortages have the option of a three-month diet feeder rental scheme offered by Keenan to help them gain control of their rations before winter.

A used machine will be rented through the scheme to assist farmers in feeding improvised and varied rations following the worst drought for a generation.

The package includes a farm visit from a Keenan nutritionist and continued support for the three-month period, which should help farmers get back on track for the winter, said Keenan UK sales manager James Brough.

“Although some areas of the country have now experienced some rainfall, the impact of the recent dry conditions will continue to affect farmers for the coming months,” he said.

“We’ve been inundated with calls from across the country from farmers who are actively looking for support on this.”
