New record for Simmentals at Perth sale in Scotland

The Simmental breed has set a new record of 22,000gns and boosted their average by more than £1000, topping a £4000 average at the Perth sale, Scotland.

The sale topper came in the form of Omorga Samson – a November 2005-born bull from Northern Ireland-based breeders Moore’s of Co Tyrone – who sold to Adrain Ivory’s noted herd in Perthshire.

Trade for Simmental females also started well with the top price hitting 4200gns for the champion – a smart, stylish and well-built heifer in the form of Tillymaud Malvenas 53 who went to hayley and Andrew Clarke from Norwich.

In setting up their new Williams herd of pedigree Simmental’s, the Clarke’s plan to show Malvenas on the circuit this year, providing she calves well in April.
