New Uttoxeter market a possibility

Farmers in the west midlands may soon have another live marketing option if the results of a feasability study into a replacement for Uttoxeter market are favourable.
Since the closure of Uttoxeter market in 2005, East Staffordshire Borough Council has considered it a priority to re-establish a livestock market in the town. A Council-owned site has been earmarked for the development of a market and agricultural centre.
The Council has commissioned Bidwells Agribusiness Consultants to undertake an independent market demand and need study to help assess the ongoing viability of the site.
Bidwells are interested in hearing your views about the future development of such a centre. Please email your thoughts to Uttoxeter cattle market or call 01223 559451 or post a comment on the FWi forums.
