Newbury show results and pictures
Following on from the Angus results, here are the main interbreed winners from Newbury Show at the weekend.
Topping off an impressive run of show wins this year was Sterling Estates’ with their Simmental bull Sterling Viking 2. By Sterling Rochester he’s already picked up interbreed awards at Devon, the Royal and Edenbridge shows this year.
Reserve beef was the Charolais champion, Balbithan Chickpea from A White. This one is by Inverlochy Topsire.
Meanwhile native beef champion was R J Hutchings’ Hereford bull Fisher 1 Cracker, a Doonbiddie Hustler son.
Reserve native champion was the Angus champion from Ewan Brewis.
Taking the dairy title was the Jersey leader Barnowl Magic Silvan from Charles Reader. She’s by Potterswall Real Magic.
Reserve dairy was the Holstein champion September Black Rose from Swallowdale Holsteins.
Commercial beef champion was Kevin Ludgate with homebred heifer Tia, while reserve was steer Ronnie from the same stable.
Lifting top honours in the sheep section was the Wiltshire Horn champion, a shearling ram from J Grant Parkes.
