Devon Contractor Luke Furse has been collecting and restoring Ford and County tractors for 25 years, so it wasn’t entirely surprising when he decided to use a venerable 154hp Ford 9600 tractor to handle the 11t Richard Western silage trailer in mid-June.

The picture shows his son Lloyd on the Claas Jaguar 900, picking up a 50ft row of first-cut silage at North Beer Farm, Clawton, Holsworthy, Devon. Luke, meanwhile, looks pretty happy on the 4wd Ford 9600, which is thought to be one of only four models ever made.
