Omagh Texels reach £1800 top
Even with the very harsh weather conditions, breeders travelled from all over Ireland to the in-lamb Texel sale at Omagh, with many Southern Breeders attending and making purchases. However it was John Foster and his Springhill Flock that stole the show.
Leading Prices. Top price was a Springhill Gimmer by Fairywater Olympian and in lamb to Cullion Prince she sold for £1800gns. A Springhill Magic daughter in lamb to Millcomb Powerhouse sold for £1500gns. John Watson sold a Dunvarren ewe sired by Rosehill Ozzie and in lamb to Millcomb Popstar fro £1400gns.
Springhill then had a Blackstown Nemo daughter in lamb to Blackstown Rocky sold for £1100gns There were a brace of ewes sold from £500gns to £650gns including daughters from Straiddarron Opal, Blackstown Milo, Dunvarren Icon and Springhill sires.
Ewe lambs peaked at £650gns for a Cullion Prince daughter while a Ballynahone Popeye daughter sold for £500gns. A Forkins Octillo daughter sold for £450, with many more ewe lambs selling for £300gns to £450gns with Springhill Perfection daughters highly sought after.
