Penparc Texel tup lambs sell privately
Ahead of this week’s Lanark and Welshpool Texel sales the Penparc Texel flock has sold a brace of tup lambs in private deals.
The lambs were sold off the back of strong performances at the Royal Welsh Show, with the first lamb sold being the sixth prize lamb from the Royal Welsh, Penparc Spitfire.
This Tamnamoney Ned son is out of a Penparc Kingpin daughter which bred the Welsh Premier top priced lamb in 2009, Penparc Pinchbeck. She also bred Penparc Paramount, sold for 3000gns at Worcester in the same year. A quarter share in this lamb has been retained, with the remaining three quarters told to Nick Layton at ÂŁ4500 for the Lionshall flock.
Second to sell was Penparc Sovereign when he joined the Llanthomas flock of Powell Jones and family. This is also a Tamnamoney Ned son and is out of a Haltcliffe Lord daughter. He will be used on females bred from their successful purchase at the 2009 Royal Welsh Show Penparc President.
