Perth Bull Sales 2011: Charolais Championship Results
Taking the title of overall male supreme champion in the Charolais show at Stirling today, and the title of intermediate champion was Thrunton Fearless (lot 806). This one was put forward by J H C Campbell & Sons, and is a son of Burradon Talisman and out of Thrunton Tranquility. He boasts a SRI of +47 and a TSI of +44. He is a full brother to Thrunton Crownprince who was crowned supreme champion at Perth in February 2009 and sold for 20,000gns.
Judge Mr Harold Stubbs said: “He was well muscled, had good shapes and was very correct. He had very good foot and legs and was a good wholesome bull.”
Reserve went to junior champion Tonaghmore Favourite (lot 896). This bull was put forward by Mr H Crawford and is a son of Thrunton Voldemort and out of Tonaghmore Cinderella.
The title of senior champion was awarded to MR N F Massie’s Blelack Figaro (Lot 764). This one is a son of Maerdy Dublin and out of Blelack Rosemary – a full sister to Blelack Lucy whose other sons have sold for up to 34,000gns. It has a SRI of +46 and a TSI of +49.
The reserve title went to another bull from Mr N F Massie – Blelack Fabulous (Lot 765). This one was sired by Wsalesmoor Bayonet and out of Blelack Usweet. It has a SRI of +57 and a TSI of +57.
The title of intermediate champion went to the overall champion of the day Thrunton Fearless (Lot 806) from J H C Campbell & Sons. The title of reserve went to Brampton Fugitive (Lot 797). This one was put forward by Mr G W Turner, and is a son of Trefonnen Crouch and out of Brampton Rumandraisern. It has a SRI of +21 and a TSI of +19.
In the junior classes, the title of junior champion was awarded to overall reserve champion Tonaghmore Favourite (Lot 896). Reserve was awarded to Coolnaslee Foreman (Lot 898) from Mr G J Crawford. This one is a son of Sportsman Columbo and out of Coolnaslee Umpiress.
The title of best group of three went to J H C Campbell & Sons’ bulls Thrunton Festival (lot 794), Thrunton Fernando (lot 786) and Thrunton Flashman (lot 835). Reserve went to Mr N F Massie’s bulls Blelack Frolic (lot 753), Blelack Fagin (lot 761) and Blelack Figaro (lot 764).
