Battle of the poultry calendars

The first of this year’s flock of “novelty” calendars has arrived at Poultry World – and we’re not disappointed.

Whereas last year’s offering was one for the boys (and while it’s now December, we’ve still not got beyond August), this year’s offering is more for the girls:

Apparently the “Nice Pecks” calendar from the happy egg co has been inspired by Holywood heartthrobs, with the cocks “posed for a series of seductive shots”.

The idea is that the new calendar should be used as an additional range enrichment, helping to keep the birds calm and encouraging them to range further.

Great idea, until it rains and everything gets a bit, well, flaccid…
