Chicken farmer claims to have found world’s smallest egg
A Chinese chicken farmer has claimed to have found the world’s smallest egg.
Zhang Xiaolong, from southeast China, said a worker discovered the mini egg. The egg, which measures a miniature 1.7cm in length, is 0.6cm smaller than the current world record and weighs just 2.7 grams.
It is believed to be smaller than a 1p British coin.
Mr Xiaolong said: “After picking up all the eggs in the basket a worker found a super small egg underneath. Luckily, it was hidden otherwise the chickens may have eaten it.
“I am sure it is the world’s smallest egg,” he added.
