First of the Christmas Foragers
There’s always rich pickings for the Feathered Forager around Christmas time. Remember the raw turkey cake, from last year? And who could forget how to deep fry a turkey, either?
Well the first bit of Christmas magic this year was spotted, as ever, on the Daily Mail. It reports that wild turkeys are taking over Staten Island, New York. Local resident Barbara Laing told the Mail 50 birds had congregated outside her home at one point. “We don’t want to kill them. We just want them to leave us alone,” she said.

Another sure sign the festive season is on the way came from Italian poultry equipment manufacturer Valli sending its Christmas cards out before the end of November. Too soon? Not if the nonsensical turkey stories continue!
