Justin Bieber faces egg throwing charges

The wanton throwing of eggs is something of a recurring theme on The Feathered Forager, whether it be for competitive achievement (Dutch crack egg throwing event) or political protest (MPs in the firing line).

But now it seems that showbiz publicity seekers have joined the party, with reports that “teen sensation” Justin Bieber is facing felony charges for allegedly throwing eggs at a neighbour’s property in California.

Almost unbelievably (!), damages are reported to have reached $20,000 – some $15,000 for replacing the Venetian plaster and $5,000 for fixing doors, according to the gossip website TMZ.

The website has also posted a video which purports to provide evidence of the attack. In it, the unnamed resident is heard shouting “I can f***ing see you”, which elicits the response , “f**k you. I got another one for you, actually.”

At no stage is Mr Bieber actually seen in the video, though there are definitely eggs involved.

The most interesting aspect of the alleged incident, however, is that, so far, some 564 versions of the same story have appeared on different websites around the world. And we thought we’d got a scoop….
