Moy Park directors climb Irish peaks for charity

Executive directors at processor Moy Park completed a gruelling “All-Ireland Four Peak Challenge” as part of the company’s ongoing fundraising for cancer support charity Macmillan.

The challenge, to climb the four highest peaks in Ireland, meant tackling Slieve Donard, Mweelrea, Lugnaquilla, and Ireland’s highest peak, Carrantuohill – a climb of 11,900 feet in three days.

Moy Park is attempting to raise £20,000 for Macmillan in 2012, and has completed a number of charity events since January. In October employees plan to climb Mount Toubkal in North Africa for charity Farm Africa.

Managing director Nigel Dunlop said “It was a fantastic challenge and a great chance to get the team together in a totally different environment.”

Mr Dunlop also said that Moy Park was on track to hit its fundraising target.
