New chairman of Noble Foods takes up position

Noble Foods’ corporate restructure continues with the appointment of John Gildersleeve as chairman.

Mr Gildersleeve took up his role on 1 September, with a brief to oversee an “ambitious growth strategy for diversification and acquisition”.

In late July, Noble Foods outlined a substantial restructure of its board.

Peter Dean announced he was stepping down as chairman, with Dale Burnett made chief executive.

Tim Morris also joins the board as company secretary.

A letter to its producers said the business was exploring a possible listing on the London Stock Exchange.

Mr Gildersleeve has extensive experience at director level, having served on the board of Tesco for 20 years.

Alongside Noble Foods, he remains chairman of British Land and deputy chairman of TalkTalk Telecom.

‘Innovative’

He said of his appointment: “I’ve been watching Noble Foods Group’s growth from a distance and have always been impressed that a company of its size and stature has retained its entrepreneurial and innovative edge.

“As the first fully integrated egg business, Noble has demonstrated extraordinary skills. I’m delighted to be joining the team.”

Mr Burnett added Mr Gildersleeve’s appointment coincided with ambitious plans for Noble Foods.

“His knowledge of the retail sector and long-term experience with national and international brands will be invaluable in helping us deliver our strategy for growth.”
