New managing director for Hy-Line UK

Layer breeding company Hy-Line UK has appointed a new managing director to take full control of its UK operations.

Nigel Butcher, currently general manager for agriculture at Noble Foods, will fill the post covered by interim director Jonathan Cade on 1 November 2011.

Mr Butcher has more than 30 years’ experience in the industry, qualifying with a diploma in poultry husbandry and moving straight into scientific research before progressing into the commercial poultry industry.

During his career he has specialised in breeding, egg production and hatchery management, with extensive experience of both alternative and enriched colony methods within commercial production systems.

Mr Butcher said he looked forward to building on the company’s reputation, delivering product excellence, technological development and strengthening customer relations.

The managing director’s job became available following the untimely death of Robert Cocksworth in March. Mr Cade will continue in his role as managing director of Hy-Line UK International Ltd.
