British turkey industry supports children’s charity

Chef Phil Vickery and TV presenter Sharon Marshall received a £5000 cheque from the British turkey industry on behalf of the children’s medical research charity Sparks.
The stars of the daytime TV programme This Morning were presented with the cheque for the charity at the recent British Turkey Awards.
The awards, held at Claridges in London, also saw Sainsbury’s named British Turkey Retailer of the year.
Catriona Lee, chairwoman of the British Turkey Federation’s marketing committee, said: “We are proud to have raised more than £35,000 over the last six years to help Sparks fulfil its pledge to give every child a healthy start in life.”
Ms Marshall added: “A sum of this size can make an enormous difference to Spark’s work and we are all hugely appreciative of British turkey’s fundraising efforts over the years.”
