Poultry Club of Great Britain updates breed standards

The sixth edition of British Poultry Standards is now available to poultry show enthusiasts. It details authorised standards of excellence for each breed as well as complete specifications and judging points for all standardised breeds as compiled by the specialist breed clubs.

Victoria Roberts, who edited the work in consultation with the Poultry Club of Great Britain’s Standards Committee and the breed clubs, says: “We have included an additional 14 breeds and updated many of the pictures.”

Liz Aubrey-Fletcher, chairman of the Poultry Club of Great Britain, adds: “This is an excellent reference book for anyone with an interest in keeping, breeding, showing and judging hens, ducks, turkeys and geese.”

British Poultry Standards, published by Blackwells, is available from the club priced £49.99 plus postage and packing. There is a special discounted rate for club members.
