Senior poultry civil servant bungee jumps for charity

Scotland’s senior poultry civil servant Charles Russell has completed a bungee jump off the Garry Bridge, Killiecrankie, raising money for handicap charity Capability Scotland.

Mr Russell was drawn to the charity following a serious motorcycle accident last year, which left him with numerous broken bones and missing teeth.

The jump was organised by extreme sports group Highland Fling and Mr Russell wore full Scottish regalia for the occasion, with a Scottish flag and the letters SCO painted on his backside.

“I was absolutely terrified,” he told Poultry World. “But the organisers advised me to look straight ahead, pick out a spot on the horizon and jump. Once I went, it was excellent. I’d definitely do it again – though next time not in a kilt.”

Mr Russell has so far raised ÂŁ375, but is aiming for ÂŁ475. To support him, log on to the website
