Royal Highland Show 2015: Dairy results
Interbreed
Taking the overall dairy interbreed title was the Holstein champion Parkend Sanchez Tamara from Brian Wetherup and Partners, Fife.
This third-calver is giving 63kg a day having calved six weeks ago and gave 15,000l in her last lactation.
Tamara also took the champion title here last year and got an honorable mention at UK Dairy Day in 2014.
Interbreed judge Robert Burrow, Preston, said his decision was a difficult one. “It was a line-up of tremendous cows, but the Holstein had a strong line, a lot of ring presence and walked well,” he said.
Taking the reserve title was the fourth calver Jersey Wellhouse Festival Spry from Huw Howie and Wilma Benson of the Wellhouse herd of Jerseys, Stranraer. This is the first outing for Festival who is giving 26l. Mr Howie said he may show her somewhere else later this summer.
