Smithfield stalwart David Sinclair dies
Sadly, Royal Smithfield Club vice president and stalwart exhibitor David Sinclair of Inchture, Perth, passed away yesterday aged 86.
David was a familiar figure at the Royal Smithfield Show, Earls Court, for more than 40 years, having first exhibited cattle there in 1959 and returing most years since with a team of about 20 cattle each time.
Having won the supreme championship in 1963, 1968 and 1971, David also served on the Club’s council from 1966 and was elected a vice president in 1988 and was Club president in 2000, which was also the last show he exhibited at.
As well as the overall champion ticket, he also won the carcass section in 1986, 1989 and 200 and the combined livee/dead cattle award in 1984, 1986, 1988 and 2000 and the Kings Cup for the besr beast bred by exhibitor on five separate occaisions.
