Stourvale dairy dispersal hits 4,300gns high

The on farm dispersal of the Stourvale dairy herd, Dorset on behalf of Sid and Olly Rose saw 450 head of cattle and 100 lots of deadstock selling to a top price of 4,300gns.

The cows on the cover of the catalogue rightly stole the show selling to 4300gns for Stourvale Shottle Welcome who joins the Yardgrove herd at Blandford with her daughter Stourvale Matson Welcome joining the same herd at 3,300gns.

The other cover girl Stourvale Boss Iron Beano sold to 4,200gns to an undisclosed Dorset buyer and her daughter Stourvale Bolton Beano sold for 3,200gns to SA Davies and Daughters of Carmarthen.

Also at 3,200gns was the VG85-2yr Stourvale Razzle Mini who was freshly calved to her second and made up a consignment of 25 that joined the Worthy herd in Somerset. The Talent heifer Stourvale Talent Seiglinde out of the Ex91-2E Dam Mikali Mack Seiglinde sold for 3,100gns to SA Davies and Daughters.

In-calf heifer Stourvale Bolton Beano 2nd sold for 3,050gns and at 3,000gns were Stourvale Retinue Daisy Red Ex90 and unclassified Stourvale Samuelo Sooty both in-milk cows. Non pedigree calved cows sold to 2,200gns.

Nine animals sold in excess of 3,000gns and 77 animals sold exceeded 2,000gns to include the top priced calved heifer Stourvale Avalon Hilary 2nd at 2,500gns.

In-calf heifers sold to 2,600gns for another Welcome out of the top priced cow, Stourvale Seagual Welcome.
