Bonvillepark herd dispersal tops at 1,850gns

High-yielding and presentable pedigree Holstein cattle saw strong demand at Cirencester Market’s dispersal of North Yorkshire’s 280-head Bonvillepark herd on Monday (20 June), with trade topping at 1,850gns.
A total of 32 buyers from as far afield as Yorkshire, Staffordshire, North Wales and Kent travelled to see Leggott Farming, Hutton Bonville, Northallerton, North Yorkshire, make top money with Bonvillepark Guarini Ursula 3. She caught the eye of Peter Turner, Bradford-upon-Avon.

The trade topper is by Bonvillepark Security Ursula 4 and out of the VG89 Guarini, bringing a £202 PLI. She is the maternal granddaughter of Bonvillepark Tennyson Ursula 5, sired by the EX91 Burlane Tennyson.
Next at 1,800gns was another Ursula daughter, this time going to Jane Goddard, Ashford, Kent, one of the major buyers on the day. She also snapped up Bonvillepark Unique Care for 1,800gns by homebred sire Bonvillepark Unique and out of Bonvillepark Melody Care.
Cows in-calf within the next four months or in early lactation were keenly sought, although anything off the mark, with less than perfect udders or six months calved and not in-calf, went for reduced prices.
